XBlades AFL Sydney Round 4 Men’s Rising Star – Jonathan Marsh (North Shore Bombers)

AFL Sydney would like to congratulate North Shore Bombers player Jonathan Marsh who has been adjudicated as the Men’s Rising Star for Round 4.

At 203cm Jonathan’s junior sport was focused on basketball, which he succeeded in playing at state level. Only a recent convert to AFL, Jonathan played his first competitive game in his new sport at the start of the 2016 season and went on to be part of North Shore’s under 19 premiership team last year. He has also spent time at the Swan’s Academy improving his skills and understanding of the game.

Still only 19, Jonathan has followed on from an outstanding preseason to make a successful transition to Premier Division football and was a clear standout in the ruck for North Shore against UTS.

Jonathan has made a solid contribution in all games this season, but on Saturday was dominant at the stoppages and around the ground, thoroughly deserving his best on ground honours.

With a long way to go in his development we are excited to see how he will progress throughout this season and beyond.

Congratulations Jono!
