“Backing up a brilliant Under 19s year and a great preseason, Nets has pushed his case as a seniors forward. Superbly skilled and with brilliant balance, Michael displayed all of his talents on Saturday playing as a small forward. He kicked two goals and was our leading player in score involvements. Both Michael and the club our excited about his 2018 campaign and we can’t wait to see what he brings to our side throughout the season.”

AFL Sydney Women’s Round Two Rising Star nominee

The night before the game what will they most likely be doing?  Watching the AFL game that is on

Reason for nomination this round:  Ella put in a solid performance in the Midfield in her first two games with the Shamrocks. She positioned herself well, attacked the footy hard and mopped up a large number of possessions under pressure against a strong UNSW side and a in in form Western Wolves.

Coach quote on performance:

“It’s an excellent start to what looks like a big season for Ella Farley, she attacks the footy hard and has a natural ability to be in the right spot.

Her skills are already shining above some of our more experienced players with accuracy in her kicks and great decision making on the field.

Ella has been one of the most consistent with attendance at training, and is always working on her craft before training and perfecting it in drills.

She has taken on board all feedback she has been given at training and also in the game and it is going to be exciting to see her continue to grow and taken on some of the most skillful midfielders in the competition.

Ella has also taken on board the physical aspect of playing Prems and whilst she is one of the fittest and fastest in the team she continues to work on her speed and fitness outside of club training to ensure she competes at the best of her ability. She is a great addition to any midfield team and we are more than happy to have her included in the Shamrocks line up this year.”
