AFL Sydney Women’s Week 15 Rising Star nominee

Name:  Gabbi Morton

Nickname:  Lambie

AFL Sydney Club:  Western Wolves

Position:  Forward pocket/Wing

Junior Club:   Western Suburbs

Favourite activity to do outside of football:  Going to the beach, tanning, going out with friends.

What is one thing that we don’t know about this Rising Star that they are well known for around the club?  Despite living on the oval, Gabbi is more often than not late to training.

What role do they play for the club both on and off the field?  Within the Western Wolves senior team, Gabbi is the baby of the team, but is an important senior player and leader in Western Suburbs U18s Youth Girls team.

The night before the game what will they most likely be doing?  Going out with friends or having a quiet night in watching movies.

Do they have any pre-game superstitions?   Wearing triple socks.

Reason for nomination this round:

Gabbi’s intensity and attack at the ball, as well as her forward defensive pressure.

Captain quote on Performance:

“Gabbi is a zippy little forward and is always providing plenty of excitement out on the field. Gabs has shown exceptional development in her footy skills this year and as a result is becoming more and more confident with her footy ability. This was highlighted in our most recent game against UTS, with Gabs being selected in the top 6 for the day. Looking forward to continuing to watch this little superstar develop in the coming years”.
