Boy, Oh Boy Wowee of the Week – Week 10

THE WEEK TEN BOY, OH BOY WOWEE OF THE WEEK GOES TO…

The Penrith Rams for not letting any wedding get in the way of a good game.  With two of their players getting married around the corner from Greygums Oval, they held their own version of ‘Wedding Crashers’ with the wedding party making sure they were in attendance for Saturday’s crucial Auburn-Penrith Women’s Premier Division game. Newlywed Penrith players, Jeremy Rix and Jessica Hocking first met when they both played Under 10s for the Emu Plains Lions.  Congrats Jeremy and Jess, as we say ‘I do’ to this Boy Oh Boy Wowee of the Week nomination – Grand Final weekend honeymoon, anyone?!

NOTEWORTHY NOMINATIONS GO TO…

Western Magic player, Ethan Barclay for kicking his 150th club goal in only 62 games. Ethan brought up this huge achievement earlier this month and is well known for being a larger than life character around the club. On field he is easy to spot as he often sports the head gear and long sleeves combo. Congrats Ethan, you have scored yourself something better than a goal…a nomination for this week’s Boy Oh Boy Wowee of the Week.

The Southern Masters AFC for their first competition win! Over the weekend the old boys from the Shire claimed the four-points in the inaugural AFL Sydney Masters competition, and didn’t they love it. ‘Winner winner chicken dinner’ lads, you have won yourself a Week 10 nomination.

The Auburn-Penrith GIANTS for Kate Easthope’s 100th game at the club. Kate is the first player to achieve this milestone as an original Penrith Ramette in this joint-venture, and with her four-goal haul against the Newtown Breakaways, she completed the rarest of doubles, kicking her 100th goal in her 100th match. Congratulations Kate!

Boy, Oh Boy Wowee of the Week is looking to honour special moments from all AFL Sydney divisions including – but not limited to – clutch marks, terrible haircuts, funny moments, after the siren victories, best fans, anything notable that has happened at your club during the week.
