Boy, Oh Boy Wowee of the Week – Round 18

ROUND 18 WINNER

Camden Cats Co-Captain and Full Forward Nathan Kenny has kicked one the best barrels seen in the Premier Division competition this season with a 60 metre long torpedo sailing through the big sticks at Henson Park.

Drawing comparisons to the Malcolm Blight ‘after the siren’ goal kicked against Carlton at Princes Park in 1976, Kenny took a mark at half forward just as the siren sounded to end the game against the UNSW/ES Bulldogs. Not known for being the longest kick at the Cats, a drop punt was not going to get the job done as Kenny went back and executed a lofty barrel that sailed over the umpire’s hat. The goal celebrations matched the goal itself, as Kenny was mobbed by his Camden teammates. A great effort with a high degree of difficulty considering the strong breeze blowing across the ground in the last quarter.

Nomination: Stuart Farnell, Camden Cats
