New opportunities for ALL students to be part of the Paul Kelly Cup in 2021

As part of AFL NSW/ACT’s Disability Inclusion Program, students with disabilities have been invited to take part in the Paul Kelly Cup alongside the mainstream competition in 2021.

Named in honour of Sydney Swans legend and New South Wales footballer Paul Kelly, the Paul Kelly Cup is the premier primary school AFL competition in NSW and the ACT.

As part of the Paul Kelly Cup this year, AFL NSW/ACT will be running a skills clinic for students with physical or intellectual impairments, scheduled to run alongside the competitive and non-competitive divisions at selected days.

Please note you do not require a full team, small groups or individuals are encouraged to join in the fun!

What to expect:

Whilst the focus will be on having fun, students will also participate in modified skills, activities and games throughout the day with regular breaks. They will also have opportunities to experience the excitement of a Paul Kelly Cup in a COVID-safe way.

Timings:

The timings of the day will approximately 10:00am – 2pm to allow students time to get to and from school where necessary.

What to bring:

A drink bottle and lunch, football boots are optional.

In addition to the Paul Kelly Cup, Kickability will be run at the following clubs in 2021:

Penrith GIANTS, East Sydney, Lane Cove, Pennant Hills, Cronulla, Glebe, Liverpool, Miranda, Dubbo Demons, Bathurst GIANTS, Bermagui Breakers, North Albury
