XBlades AFL Sydney Round 5 Men’s Rising Star – Nick Bertino (Sydney University)

AFL Sydney would like to congratulate Sydney University player Nick Bertino who has been adjudicated as the Men’s Rising Star for Round 5.

 

Nick Bertino is making a name for himself among Sydney University’s best in Premier Division.

 

The Drummoyne Power junior has slotted nicely into the Students backline alongside NEAFL listed players, and has not looked out of place.

 

Often matching up against the opposition’s best small forward, Bertino has been a huge factor in keeping opposition teams off the scoreboard, with only 40 goals kicked against the Students in their first 5 games this season.

 

Along with his form on the field, Bertino has also seen his name in the Sydney AFL Team of the Week numerous times, which comes as no surprise following his 2016 form which saw him win the Jason McLennan Medal (SUANFC U/19s B&F).
