XBlades AFL Sydney Round 11 Women’s Rising Star
AFL Sydney is pleased to announce that the 2017 Round 11 Women’s Rising Star is Senna Gulden from the UNSW Eastern Suburbs Stingrays.
At just 16 years of age Senna Gulden is an AFL veteran. Having commenced AUSKICK at age 5 in Victoria, Senna has been playing the game for more than 10 years. A member of the Maroubra Saints Youth Girls and the NSW ACT AFL Youth Girls Academy, Senna has been training with UNSW ES Stingrays Premier Division Squad regularly since January 2017.
Taking advantage of breaks in the youth girls’ program Senna has played the last 3 games as a member of the Stingrays Premier Division team and has cemented herself as a genuine member of the squad playing off half back.
Senna has been voted in the top 3 in the Players’ Player award by the playing group two out of the last three appearances. Her ability to mark above head, stay calm under pressure and contest and deliver the football has been outstanding according to her team mates and coaches.
A player to watch, Senna does not look out of place in a team that includes eight senior academy and two AFLW players.
AFL Sydney congratulates Senna on her Round 11 Rising Star nomination.
