XBlades AFL Sydney Round 14 Men’s Rising Star
AFL Sydney is pleased to announce that the 2017 Round 14 Rising Star is Luke Skrivanic from the Pennant Hills Demons.
Eighteen year old Luke Skrivanic made his Premier Division debut in Round 8 last season 2016 against UTS Bats in which he capably acquitted himself and achieved a second milestone by kicking his first goal in senior football for Pennant Hills Demons in the same match.
Luke is a former North Ryde and Pennant Hills Junior with heaps of talent. In the 2015 Under 17 Division 1 Grand Final, he was Best on Ground, kicking five goals. He was also selected to play in the State Under 16 RAMS side, has been in the Swans Academy and was selected to play in the Swans NEAFL side this season. Luke played four Premier Division matches in 2016 and so far this season he has played in the Demon’s top side on five occasions.
Chris Yard, coach of Pennant Hills Premier Division, has been impressed with Luke’s quality football skills, his physicality and endurance.
“Luke has great potential as an explosive mid-fielder, who is strong in 1-on-1s, can take a mark and kick multiple goals. He is a physical player who is able to take a hit and move on. He has a great work ethic, is a player you can rely on to lift when the game is in the balance and always seems to be running as hard at the end of the game as he was at the start.”
These qualities were all on display in last weekend’s match against Manly Warringah Wolves, Luke proving that he has the talent and drive to perform at the highest level in Sydney AFL. Acknowledging Luke’s outstanding performance, he was unanimously voted the best on ground by his team-mates.
A football future with great potential is in prospect.
AFL Sydney congratulates Max on his Round 14 Rising Star nomination.
