WHAT TO EXPECT

Expect a physical contest. These two sides will do anything to book a place in the big dance, and you can be sure they will both throw everything they have at this game.

The Bombers will be looking to improve after last weekend’s loss to the Stingrays. Nicola Barr was best for Sydney University last weekend, despite receiving a nasty head knock before half-time. She will be ready to play at her damaging best this weekend against the Macquarie University midfield.

Stephanie Walker was also dangerous up forward, kicking 2 goals and will be looking to add to her finals tally this weekend.

Sydney University however, will be without AFL Women’s All Australian player, Erin McKinnon. Erin was a late out with injury last weekend and will miss again this weekend. Her replacement in the ruck, Adriana Smith, was brilliant in her absence and will be looking to put in another big performance this weekend.

Midfielder, Kristy Sutcliffe was also important on the weekend, getting plenty of football in the middle of the ground. She will be looking for another great performance this weekend.

Macquarie University will be looking for the midfield to fire this weekend, to help them overcome the Minor Premiers.

Laura Russell was dangerous in front of goal on last week, kicking three goals, and may prove to be the key up forward for the Warriors.

Amanda Farrugia dominated again in the first week of the finals, showing the form that has seen her enjoy one of her best seasons on record.

Emma Swanson was also a stand out performer, proving her credentials as one of AFL Sydney’s elite.

PREDICTION

This will be a hard fought contest. Warriors to fall just short. Sydney University Bombers by 19 points.
