Seeking Applications for Coaches – Season 2020
Due to the expansion of two new teams and internal coaching promotions, Pennant Hills AFL Senior Club is seeking coaches for the following teams for Season 2020:
Premier Reserves Men’s | Division 1 Men’s | Premier Division Women’s | Under 19’s
Season 2020 at Pennant Hills
What an exciting year 2020 promises to be for our club. We enter our 50th year of Senior AFL Football, stage two of our main oval development underway soon and ready for round 1, our new social club rooms to commence construction, and most importantly we expect to increase participation to 11 teams with our planned expansion into Premier Division Women’s, Division 2 Under 19’s and Masters competitions.
Our ambition is to participate competitively across all levels of Men’s and Women’s football, so that players of any standards can join our wonderful community based club and are given the opportunity to join our Pennant Hills AFL family.
We are ONE CLUB, who have embedded an unbreakable Club-Team-Self mantra.
We rely heavily on our Coaches, Players, Volunteers and Supporters to continue growing our proud history and enrich our club culture and values.
Our youth is the cornerstone of our club and we invest time and resource into developing players to maximise their football potential and preparing them for rigours of senior football, whatever grade they aspire to. We focus equally on our elite talent, as we do every player who just wants to maximise their football capability and enjoy our football culture. We are proud to be a club of choice parents want their son’s and daughters to be associated with.
Coaching positions available for Season 2020
- Premier Reserves Mens- Premiers 2018, Grand Final 2019
After many successful years coaching this division, Jason Clarke has indicated its time for a break and we are determined to seek out and appoint a coach who can continue the great work in preparing future players for Premier Division, whilst maintaining our team culture and use of experienced players to remain highly competitive in this important grade of football for our club. Level 2 coaching preferred, but we are also interested in experienced footballers aspiring to coaching at senior level and capable of working collaboratively with the senior coach and others on the coaching panel.
- Division 1 Mens- Premiers 2018, Grand Final 2019
Many of our current premier division players have launched their senior careers over the past 2 years in Div 1 Mens football. We are seeking a coach that can develop young players of the future, pro-motes performance based talent accordingly, and brings a solid knowledge and experience to this grade. Level 1 coaching in mandatory for all our teams at Pennant Hills.
Pennant Hills AFL Club Coaches Required
- Premier Division Women
After 4 successful years in Women’s football, we will field our first Premier Division Womens team in 2020.
In preparation for this exciting addition to our club, we are seeking a Level 2 Coach capable of taking this transition step into the Premier Division Women’s football in Sydney. We have a very large number of player participants across 3 grades and maximising the potential of this committed list of players will be critical for this coaching role.
Our Women’s program is overseen by Women’s Head of Football Mark Carroll, and has been a wonderful success story to date with Pennant Hills fielding 3 teams in 2019, and our ambition to have competitive teams across the best available competitions is a natural progression for our club.
- Division 1 Men’s Under 19’s
Our Committee have determined that our 19’s program will be a priority focus for our club this year and require an experienced coach who can prepare and develop young men at this age to transition from junior to senior football and maximise player potential.
Developing our list of elite players listed with AFL Swans and Giants Academies, yet flexible enough to work with first year players to AFL will require a strong football background in coaching, teaching and influencing young people. Applicants will have had experience either by coaching at junior ranks, or a strong playing background at senior level. Level 2 coaching would be an advantage, but the club will assist the right candidate to achieve this level during the 2020 season.
Building collaborative relationships with the Premier, Premier Reserve division coaches, senior coaching panel and junior feeder club coaches is a key component to success for this position.
- Division 2 Men’s Under 19’s
This will be a new team targeted at players who have either never played previously, experienced players who want to continue playing this great game but not available to commit to regular training or weekly games, and young developing players.
We are seeking a coach that brings a solid knowledge of AFL experience for coaching and teaching footy talent, but who is flexible to the challenges of managing footballers at this early adult transition stage of footy, work, school,etc. Working closely with the Div 1 Under 19’s coach is a natural expectation, with the ability for foster our Club Team Self mantra at Pennant Hills.
