What is one thing that we don’t know about this Rising Star that they are well known for around the club?

For being the youngest on the team (that’s why the nickname “Pup”).

What role do they play for the club both on and off the field?

On field Lily brings a high level of skill and an ability to find the ball. She brings other players into the game with her running support.

It is also very impressive that Pup has worked hard to maintain contact with her junior club, Glebe, as she wants to make sure as many young girls can come through to Sydney Uni as possible, having been one of the young girls that came down to train with us last season.

Nomination Details

Reason for nomination this round:

Pup was key in our win over UNSW on the weekend. In her best match since she started playing with us and she was heavily involved racking up a number of clean possessions and making a number of tackles. Her ability to put herself in good positions offensively and defensively and have a consistent impact across 4 quarters was showed real maturity in her game.

Lily has worked hard on her game with her Line and Development Coach and continues to improve and become more consistent with every training session and every game.

“We were lucky to have Pup come to us to us as a local junior and since joining the program her progress has been outstanding. Her skills are great, having come through the Swans Academy, and she is a smart footballer who works hard on her craft and demonstrates a great attitude to learning.

She was a bit apprehensive about the physical side of Women’s football when she first started but is now really relishing that part of the game. At only just 17 years of age, she plays with a level of maturity well beyond her age.

Overall, Lily’s ability to win the ball or impact on the outside, set up well defensively and bring others into the game are attributes that have made her a valuable part of the squad.

Pup is already a popular member of the team who brings great enthusiasm to the playing group, and we look forward to having her with play plenty of games for us in the seasons to come.” Womens Senior Coach, Jon Dyster
