AFL Sydney Round 1 Update – All Matches POSTPONED due to Inclement Weather

AFL Sydney wishes to advise our football community unfortunately due to the significant rainfall across the Greater Sydney region in the last 24 hours and the amount predicted to come during the remainder of today and into tomorrow, the League has made the difficult decision in the best interest of player, official and volunteer safety along with competition integrity to postpone ALL Round 1 AFL Sydney matches scheduled for Saturday 6^th April 2024.

All Round 1 matches will be rescheduled to the Wet Weather Rounds (Premier Division and Under 19.5 Division One – 8^th June & lower divisions – 20^th July), lower division matches can also be played on the first Rep Weekend (May 18^th) or another date throughout the season prior to July 20 by agreement.

Play HQ will reflect as all matches ‘abandoned’. Once new dates and times have been agreed upon by clubs, Play HQ will be updated accordingly.

Appreciate the disappointment this decision presents Clubs, their players, and the broader AFL Sydney football community.

AFL Sydney look forward to commencing our season with three Friday night fixtures on April 12, and a full round of matches next Saturday (April 13).
