Meet our Round Twelve Women’s Rising Star Nominee, Lucinda Watson, East Coast Eagles
Player Profile:
Name: Lucinda Watson
Nickname: Luce, CC, Low to the Ground Luce
AFL Sydney Club: East Coast Eagles
Junior Club: Killarney Vale Bombers
Position: Half Forward / Midfield
What is one thing that we don’t know about this Rising Star that they are well known for around the club?
Lucy travels from Terrigal twice a week for training and game days which shows her commitment to her development as a footy player.
What role do you play for the club(s) both on and off the field?
Lucy is an ultra clean midfielder who makes very good decisions with ball in hand. One of the best distributors by hand you will see.
Reason for nomination this round:
Lucy has put together two very good performances in a row now and been a point of difference for our midfield. She has been named in our best players two weeks in a row now in just her 3rd and 4th Premier Division games and still at just 16 years of age!
Coach quote on Performance:
Lucy was injected into the midfield in the second half and instantly lifted our contested and ground ball game which was lacking in the first half. Lucy’s ability to be a one touch player with ground balls allowed us to get momentum back in the game and move the footy more efficiently. Lucys decision making made her standout in a high pressure game and was able to release our runners time and time again.
