Meet our Round Eleven Men’s Rising Star Nominee, Luka Jordaan, Pennant Hills Demons

Player Profile:
Name: Luka Jordaan
Nickname: Prince
Junior Club: Hornsby Berowra/Westbrook
AFL Sydney Club: Pennant Hills Demons
Position: Key Defender
What is one thing we don’t know about this Rising Star that they are well known for around the club?
Being the best looking bloke in AFL Sydney.
What role do they play for the club both on and off the field?
Never a dull moment when “Prince” struts his stuff around the footy club but always got time for anyone. Luka has come leaps and bounds in the past 24 months and we would argue he is the most improved player across the competition.
Reason for nomination this round:
Rock solid in defense gathering 11 possessions as a lockdown defender to go along with 2 intercept marks.
Coach quote on Performance:
“Luka has laid the foundation for an excellent 1st year playing Premier Division football.
He’s not only cemented his position in our back six but excelled when given any role we have given him this year where his appetite for the contest has shone out was highlighted again on the weekend.
If it wasn’t for the fact that his coaches weren’t across Rising Star submissions at AFL Sydney until May it’s highly likely he would have already received a nomination given Luka has been named in our best already on five occasions this year which is a nod to his consistent output and the value he brings to our team.
As a coaching group we are incredibly excited to see how Luka can impact in the back half of the season”. – Jason Blakamore (Pennant Hills Demons – Men’s Premier Division Coach)
