AFL Sydney Club: Pennant Hills Demons

What is one thing we don’t know about this Rising Star that they are well known for around the club?

Liam is still only in his infancy of his AFL career being his 5th season of football ever. Physical at every contest and loves to tackle.

What role do they play for the club both on and off the field?

His intensity, on match day, training & Spider has never met a bloke he doesn’t think he can tackle. The future couldn’t be brighter for this young demon.

Reason for nomination this round:

His Performance in a win over UTS, and probably a bit delayed as he has played every game of first grade this season except one.

Coach quote on Performance:

“Liam “Spider” Everett has been a shining light in the past six weeks, leading the way with his relentless forward-half pressure and trademark intensity and being named 3 times in the best players over that time period including against UTS in the wet on the weekend.

A young bull who thrives on the physicality of senior footy, Spider has embraced every contest and shown a real hunger to compete against bigger bodies.

That fearless approach has seen him earn increased midfield minutes as the season has progressed where he makes an impact at the coalface despite his age.

As a demonstration of this Liam was our equal 3rd highest possession getter with 8 contested possessions and an equal team high of 8 tackles along with 3 clearances against UTS.

His hard work and commitment to developing his forward craft is also paying off, with another goal against UTS on the weekend to cap off a well rounded performance.

His teammates absolutely love what Spider brings to the table, and as a coaching group we’re excited to see how he continues to grow and impose himself on games in the last month of the season” – Jason Blakemore (Pennant Hills Demons – Men’s Premier Division Coach)
