Meet our Round Thirteen Women’s Rising Star Nominee, Charlotte Tidemann, North Shore Bombers

Player Profile:

Name: Charlotte Tidemann

Nickname: Tidders, Mini Tids, CT

AFL Sydney Club: North Shore Bombers

Junior Club: Willoughby/Mosman Swans

Position: Wing/Midfield

What is one thing that we don’t know about this Rising Star that they are well known for around the club?

Charlotte loves to play with the senior girls. You will always find her with a smile on her face and her head over the ball or at the bottom of a pack. Charlotte brings an enthusiasm and love for the game to senior football which is infectious. That love for the game is underpinned by a work ethic which sets the tone for her development.

What role do you play for the club(s) both on and off the field?

Charlotte is a young player who brings passion to her football and energises senior team mates. She also loves to avoid canteen duty by running water for the Men’s premier division side, where the light blue shirt fits like a marquee.

Reason for nomination this round:

At 15 years old, Charlotte has played 6 senior games in 2024 and has been in the best in all 6.

After 34 possessions in the U20s, we considered her ready for premier division. Charlotte has strong contested possession numbers, breaks the game open with run, carry and forward entry. She defies her size with tackling pressure. In Round 13, Charlotte went onto the ball in the last quarter and helped North Shore to victory. Under pressure in the final quarter, she marked and converted from 40m to take the lead. Her team mates ran in from everywhere in celebration.

Coach quote on Performance:

“Charlotte has a bright football future. Her athletic ability, skills and competitive nature enable her to match it with senior players. Charlotte was quickly moved onto a senior Eagles player as we thought she would be able to compete. We moved her onto the ball in the last quarter to infuse her into the contest and she responded with her best. Her ability to get the ball forward, out of the stoppage and to score at a crucial time proved to be a difference in a huge win.” – Women’s Premier Division Coach
