Meet our Round Eight Women’s Rising Star Nominee, Montana Doubell, St George Dragons

Player Profile:

Name: Montana Doubell

Nickname: Mon

AFL Sydney Club: St George Dragons

Position: Rover/Half Forward

Junior Club: Figtree Juniors AFC

What is one thing that we don’t know about this Rising Star that they are well known for around the club?

Montana is new to St George, but has slotted into the playing group really easily. She is a successful junior Iron Woman and Triathlete when not playing footy.

What role do they play for the club both on and off the field?

Montana has already established herself as an on-field leader both at training and definitely during her first two outings for St George.

Reason for nomination this round:

Great 4 quarter game against Pennant Hills and instrumental in St George’s second premier division victory and their first win at home at Olds Park. From her first possession, seconds into the game to her final goal straight out of the midfield in the dying stages, Montana was everywhere.

Coach quote on Performance:

“Montana has slotted into the playing group seamlessly. A leader at training, she takes that out onto the field at game time. She showed her class in her first game against a strong Sydney Uni side and has certainly backed that up against Pennant Hills this weekend. Great voice and leadership, decisive action and execution are her strengths and we’re really excited to see her at St George. Montana is a big part of what we are hoping to build here.” – Adam Parker (St. George Dragons – Women’s Premier Division Coach)
