AFL Sydney Women’s Rising Star – Round Sixteen Nominee

Meet our Round Sixteen Women’s Rising Star nominee, Roxy Beuzeville:

Player Profile

Name: Roxy Beuzeville

Nickname: Rox

AFL Sydney Club: Manly Warringah Wolves

Junior AFL Club: Pittwater Tigers

Position: Midfielder

Favourite activity to do outside of football:

Going to the Beach. Even on Holidays, I’ll leave Sydney and go to another beach
What is one thing that we don’t know about this Rising Star that they are well known for around the club?
She’s the leader of the pack – The other young Wolvies walk a lot taller when Rox is around.

What role do they play for the club both on and off the field?

Umm… nothing unusual. I mean, off the field, just the typical pitching in when its my turn to man the canteen etc.

The night before the game what will they most likely be doing?

Usually working at the Yacht Club or watching a movie with the fam.”

I need to know the time – all the time. I don’t take my watch off until the last minute. One other weird thing; if I have a bad warm-up, I often have a really good game… Although I haven’t built purposely bad warm-ups into my routine yet, I’m thinking about it.”

Nomination Details

Reason for nomination this round:

Roxy’s oustanding form in recent weeks has helped us solidify a finals birth.

Coach quote on Performance:

“I love Rox’s work rate. Contest after contest, she puts her head over the ball. Toughness, good skills and ever developing footy smarts are helping Roxy become the complete package.”
