Southern Power AFC 2018 Coaching Appointments
The Southern Power Australian Football Club is pleased to announce the coaching positions for the 2018 season.
With a young squad looking to make further improvements on the field, our Senior Men’s team will once again be coached by Jared Wilson. Wilson has worked tirelessly over the last 12 months to build up a strong football program and club culture, and is looking to reap the benefits of this next season under AFL Sydney’s new competition structure.
Our U19’s Division 2 team breathed new life into the club last season with their positive energy and all-round improvement on the field. After making the grand final last season, the boys are hell-bent on going one better in 2018, with Cameron Gregory and Paul Donnelly back in to lead the charge.
The Men’s Reserves team made solid improvements in season 2017, and are looking to continue that into next season. Finals football is the aim, and the team will continue to be lead by Matt Last and Ryan Fornasari. Both Last and Fornasari are excited by the potential of the team, and keen to maintain the upward curve of improvement.
The Women’s Premier Division team will be looking to return to finals football in 2018, with Abraham Caroca to remain at the helm. With the continued success of our Youth Girls’ sides over the last few years, the future is looking bright for our #favourites.
Finally, our Youth Girls teams are looking to build on the premiership success achieved for the last 2 years running. Under the coaching panel of Kathryn Hull, Rheanna Lotter and Peter Stevens, the girls are well positioned to make it another successful season.
Stability within the club is vital and the reappointment of all coaches from 2017 is a great outcome and provides a great platform for the club to launch in 2018 to once again become one of the ‘POWERS’ of Sydney football.
Season 2018 promises to be one of great growth and on-field success for Southern Power. We have moved to our brand-new home ground at Waratah Oval, which boasts excellent facilities including change rooms, canteen and social room, an elite quality playing field made possible by Renworx Pty Ltd and brand-new lighting capable of hosting night football matches. On top of this, our local junior clubs are also a strong and a growing force that provide a stream of quality players to our young list.
We will be announcing dates for pre-season training in the very near future. Make sure to get along and join in on what will be a great season for Southern Power AFC.
