Boy, Oh Boy Wowee of the Week – Round Five
THE ROUND FIVE BOY, OH BOY WOWEE OF THE WEEK GOES TO…
Macquarie University thanks to their superstar forward, Simone Freeman. Sim may have been overtaken by Bec Privitelli on the Women’s Premier Division Goal Kickers Leaderboard last week while she was on tour with the GWS GIANTS Netball squad as their S&C Coach, but looking at the vision, she’s still working on that kick…and her celebration. Watch out Priv, Sim is circling!
NOTEWORTHY NOMINATIONS
St George Dragons this this famous father son draftee. Australian Actor Rodger Corser (Underbelly + Doctor, Doctor) made his debut with St George this season – and was also spotted sporting the Auskick uniform during half-time at the SCG on Saturday night. Welcome Rodger, we hope to see plenty more of you this season!

Western Suburbs for their clutch 2-point win over Sydney University in the Premier Division. The previously undefeated Sydney Uni were shocked by a fired up Magpies outfit who held on for a famous victory to open their season tally. Sing it loud, Wests!

The Auburn-Penrith GIANTS for this great goal celebration after Melissa “Cookie” Brydon kicked a goal late in the game to put the GIANTS ahead against the Premiership favourites, the undefeated Macquarie University Warriors. Last weeks Rising Star nominee, Sarah Yatim leapt onto Cookie, creating an amazing moment.
Although, the Warriors fought back in the last five minutes to snatch a victory in this thrilling contest, pundits say that this goal celebration was the hardest Cookie was hit all day.
UTS Bats for this Photoshop effort. Last Friday when we uploaded an in-action photograph of Adam Tarrant to the AFL Sydney Facebook cover photo, the Bats took hold and within what felt like SECONDS, had Tarrant starring in Swan Lake. Looking graceful, Adsy!
