ALLIES: 22 locals named in 50-man squad
The AFL NSW/ACT region will have 22 representatives in the 50-man 2019 Allies squad set to compete in the 2019 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships.
Including players from both the Sydney Swans and GIANT Academies, players from both the Murray Bushrangers and Bendigo Pioneers have also been named following their performances in the NAB League.
The squad, which includes players from New South Wales, the ACT, Queensland, Tasmania and the Northern Territory will come into camp in Melbourne on May 23-27. As a part of the training camp, the squad will also take on Vic Country and Vic Metro in practice matches at Ikon Park.
From here, the Allies will take part in five rounds (including one bye) of the 2019 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships, which will take them to Launceston, Adelaide and Melbourne, all beginning with Round One against Vic Country on June 9 in Launceston.
In recent years, the Allies have produced such AFL players as Isaac Cumming (GIANTS), Nick Blakey (Sydney Swans), Charlie Spargo (Melbourne), Harry Perryman (GIANTS) and Todd Marshall (Port Adelaide).
